DVM

Education: Michigan State University DVM 1991, University of Michigan BS 1986

Dr. Coll grew up in Coral Gables, FL (near Miami) and came to Michigan to attend the University of Michigan. She graduated with High Distinction in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She then attended Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with honors in 1991. She met her husband at U of M and thus decided to settle in Michigan. Dr. Coll has owned Chicago Drive Veterinary Clinic since 1997. She grew up with lots of pets and knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She started working for veterinarians when she turned 16 and learned all aspects of the business–working in the kennel, being a receptionist, and helping out as an assistant. Dr. Coll and her husband, John, have three kids; Nathan, Avery and Meghan. Dr. Coll’s hobbies include knitting, biking, and swimming. She has three dogs, Nora, Boone, and Bell and two cats, Eddie and Rory.

DVM

Dr. Ackerman is a 2000 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. He has served on the board of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and also as the secretary, vice president, and president of the Western Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Ackerman has a special interest in internal medicine, geriatric care, and dentistry.

Dr. Ackerman is married to his lovely wife, Laura, and has two daughters, Avery and Ashlyn. In his spare time, he enjoys being with his family, relaxing at the lake, and traveling.

Michelle has been an LVT at our clinic since she graduated from Baker College in 2007. She has enjoyed being around animals since she was young and loves working with them today. She also enjoys every aspect of being a technician, from helping with routine appointments to client education to assisting and monitoring patients during surgery. Michelle and her husband Jason have four busy kids, Carter, Garret, Natalie, and Kayla. As a family, they have a German Shorthaired Pointer named Penny. Michelle loves spending time with family, being outside, watching her kids play baseball, and camping during the summer.

Veterinary Assistant

Kristie started working at CDVC in 1998. Though her degree from CMU is in health fitness, her heart has always been with dogs and cats! She and her husband, Kevin, have been married since 1996 and have two adopted children, Briana and Jamija. They started their family with a Husky mix named Shadow, and soon after came Owatchee, a Malamute mix. They also rescued Riley, a Border Collie, and added two cats, Annie and Casper. Today, Kristie and her family currently have Skye, an active Border Collie; Ruger, a mixed breed; and Annie, who has made it through all the craziness!

Vet Assistant/Client Service Representative

Sue has worked for CDVC as a part-time vet assistant/client service representative since 2009. She also works a full-time job outside of the clinic. When she is not working, she loves to go on Detroit Tiger road trips, watching them play at a different stadium each year. She enjoys being outside in the summer, relaxing or doing outdoor activities. Sue also loves to spend time with her family, friends, and her cat, Elsa. 

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Fang graduated from the vet tech program at Baker College in 2013 and has been a part of the Chicago Drive Veterinary Clinic team ever since. Currently, her pets include a dog, a cat, and a corn snake. She loves all breeds of cats and dogs but has a soft spot for rescues and “Pitties.” In her free time, Fang is usually watching movies, playing video games, or reading. She is also a foodie, so she dreams of taking a worldwide food tour.

Groomer

Anna is our professional pet groomer here at Chicago Drive. She graduated from the Paragon School of Pet Grooming in 2013. Shortly after that, she started grooming here one day a week, and now she has the privilege of grooming Monday through Thursday every week. On Fridays, she instructs students at the Paragon School of Pet Grooming. Anna loves grooming in the veterinary environment because she learns a lot from the medical side of things. She really enjoys learning and strives to constantly continue her education by taking classes and seminars, going to grooming shows, and learning from other groomers.

Anna and her husband, Devon, have been married since 2014. They have two dogs, a Standard Poodle named Timo, and Twinkie, a Jack Russell mix. Anna and her husband love to travel and spend time at their grandparents’ cottages during the summer, where she loves to fish and spend time on the boat. In her spare time, Anna loves hanging out with friends, playing board games, card games, and video games, and watching movies. She is also a big foodie and loves trying new things. Christmas is her favorite time of year because her family has many fun traditions that make it truly special.

Anna loves making dogs look and feel great, but the most important thing about her job is being an advocate for your pet. She sees most of her clients more often than their veterinarians do, so it’s her responsibility to observe changes in your pet from visit to visit and be their voice if something is out of the ordinary. Anna takes great care in what she does and hopes to see you and your pet walk through her door soon!
